Spring is in short supply these days, but it has been nice to enjoy the occasional day outside.
...and play in the sprinklers with the puppy. This guy joined the family about a month ago, and is already double the size. He's going to be huge, y'all.
Last November during our trip up to Portland, we took a day to visit some water at Cape Lookout. Cold beaches beat warm beaches any day.
We got out there just in time to watch the tide come up and a storm roll in - needless to say it was the best. We got thoroughly (and happily) soaked and sand covered before heading to a tiny pub to warm up.
For most people, Emporia is just a cute little town to drive through. But, if disc golf is big in your life, it's a cute little town you HAVE TO drive through on the way to South Dakota so you can tell your husband you saw the magical place where his favorite discs come from. Either way, if you ever find yourself there, stop by Commercial Street Diner and get yourself some stellar breakfast.
These are definitely some of my favorite photos I took at the wedding. Who needs beautifully arranged flat lays when you can have evidence of that time you ordered pizza at midnight and gave the delivery guy wedding cake?! Also pictured: drinks for two people we love and miss dearly, one of the loves of my life/our wedding photographer Cynthia, and our day after breakfast picnic.

I headed out to a senior portrait session the other day...low and behold, my tag-a-long assistant ended up getting his own shoot, too.
This guy recently became an ambassador for Shady Rays sunglasses, so of course he needed a nice picture to post before going to a tournament. Who knew that I would end up being an Instagram husband??
After adopting this cutie in Portland, I got the nudge I needed to throw myself back into alternative processes in a big way. I wanted to quickly gauge just how rusty my skills were, so I picked up a ferrotype kit and went to town.
They didn't turn out the best, but I was expecting them to be pretty rough after my hiatus. The good news is the camera works perfectly, and I still mostly know what I'm doing!
We don't have to talk about how I'm about a year late posting this trip, right? Okay, great.
I love knowing that Roswell is a short day trip away, but also a little sad that I don't go there more often. It's a pretty small place, but I would love to spend more time wandering around and taking in all the kitschy goodness.
Between the two of our crazy schedules, DJ and I only had about 30 minutes to make this shoot happen. Neither of us back down from a challenge, so we went for it!
It doesn't matter how many fellow Girl Scouts I take senior pictures for, I always think they're too young to be graduating. Even though they make me feel old, I'm always super proud. Congrats on everything, DJ! Hope you'll keep coming by my office to chat about life, even when you're a fancy college gal. ;)
I stumbled across this roll of super expired Portra recently (that I hadn't labeled for some reason), and threw it in with the last batch of film I sent off to get processed. I had already prepared myself for it to be blank, so I was pleasantly surprised to see moody, grainy, at least two year old images. They appear to be from right after we moved, but I can't seem to wrap my brain around what day it is this week, much less how long it's been since we moved.
