lately: Home Alone

A few weekends ago, Hutch headed out of town and left Ruby and I to our own devices. Obviously, it got real crazy in our bachelorette pad.

I definitely didn't make a HUGE mess in the kitchen, or watch something in the neighborhood of 6 movies and 5 episodes of bridezillas.

excursion: Blue Hole

I'm fairly certain that had I grown up closer to a natural body of water, I would have been in it at every opportunity. Blue Hole park is a neat little section of the San Gabriel River in Georgetown, which is a super quick day trip from Austin. The weather and the water were both the perfect temperature for spending a day away from real life.

quality time: San Antonio Brunch

A daytrip to San Antonio + brunch with two of my favorite people = a more than stellar way to spend a Sunday.

I snagged my newly fixed 35mm, and somehow convinced Shelby to take some time out of her day to meet up for brunch at Tucker's. After the most amazing chicken and waffles, we walked around and saw some sights in her neighborhood, then of course ended the day being tourists at the Alamo.

recap: September 2015

I didn't manage to keep up with posting pictures this month, but I did manage to get all of my old posts consolidated and moved over to be part of my website. Small victories!

The past month was filled with all kinds of wilderness, a workspace revamp, and some exciting new vinyl to top it all off.

I also got some killer fair food, went to the sweetest wedding, finished one of my new favorite books and had plenty of work silliness.

outtakes: Happy Accidents

My Yashica Mat is broken. Not broken enough to stop using, but not quite valuable enough to be worth the cost of fixing. I've gotten pretty good at managing its quirks, but sometimes it can still surprise me with something unexpected and wonderful.

excursion: Wild Basin

Way back when I moved across the state, Wild Basin was my first experience with Austin nature. It's a beautiful preserve and St. Edward's is lucky to have the area as a satellite part of the campus. I hadn't spent much time out there since I graduated, so I asked two of my best adventuring partners to spend some time walking around the trails with me. Since it is technically still summer, what started out as a nice morning quickly evolved into a disgustingly hot afternoon.

recap: August 2015

August was the month of road trips, and I couldn't be happier about it. Both my car and my Hasselblad got quite the work out this month. I got to see lots of Texas, a little bit of wilderness, and shoot a whole lot of film (despite the fact that I spent a week being the sickest I have ever been in my entire life).
